By DavidLynch on Jul 8, 2012 in General
Sat July 7, 2012 all day competitions- student Susie Ryder won three first place medalions in:
bronze level East Coast Triple swing,
Bronze Waltz,
and Bronze Tango.
Dave and A Chinese woman who first met in the Jack and Jill contest , where you dance with whoever they assign you too,
came in 4th place in a total of 35 couples.
There are 3 levelsof skill - Bronze is basic – the first 12-15 steps
silver level is more advanced another 10 patterns,
and gold is the best. You see silver and gold on dancing with the stars.
Susie did suprisingly well considering she had never competed and only decide to enter 2 weeks before. Encouraged by her smart, kind husband Jim, and a few very fast - track crash bronze classes, by Dave, she was a little nervous at first but relaxed and enjoyed the challenges. I think she might do even better next year. There are 4 age groups:
The minimum ages is 50 and she just qualified for that 50-59 age class.
there is also a 60-69,
70-79
and anybody over 80+ years of age.
swing Comps. started in the afternoon and then there were 100 contests. there was a dinner at 6 pm and demos and WCS class by Char and Alan
There were great Country demos and a 7-10pm Casanova dance.
Thanks to all my students who were there cheering.
My frienda at Grays Harbor made up and held up signs that said a perfect # 1o,David and Susie
I bot a new smart camera+ cell phone and Tom made a dozen videos and Jim took videos and stills.
Start thinking about next year 2013 senior games,
and Where you want to take a 2013 dance cruise with Dave too?
